Lunar Surface Sample Collection Bag, Large
A 16"x 8"x 6" Sample Collection Bag used for training Apollo astronauts for their lunar EVA. This is an exact type of moon rock collection bag used on the lunar surface, where it could either be attached to an astronaut's PLSS backpack or to the Lunar Rover. The bag has a hinged, reinforced lid and a slit for easy access. Two metal brackets on the side at the top are for attaching to the backpack or rover. Photos have been provided showing the bag in use during training and on the lunar surface, and additional photos and views will be available once the auction is moved to Proxibid. The bag is complete and intact. This item comes with a letter from the consigner, a Flight Crew Training engineer, stating that it was used for Apollo lunar EVA training. Very rare example of lunar surface equipment, and the last one that will be available.

A large Project Apollo Spacecraft Operations Checkout Procedure manual from North American Aviation for a comprehensive Combined Systems Test of the command module SC-009, which was AS-201. It is dated 27 Nov 1965 and contains 542 pages of procedures with some foldouts. Some of the tests include Ground Power Application, Master Count, Instrumentation System Test, RF Systems Test, Environmental Control Systems Test, Propulsion System Readiness, Flight Control System Test, Attitude Reference System Test, etc. The front cover is faded with age, but the manual is complete and in nice shape otherwise. AS-201 was a Saturn 1B test and was launched February 26, 1966. Rare.

Lunar Surface Sample Collection Bag For Scoop
An original 5"x 5" cylindrical plastic lunar material collection bag of the type actually used on the lunar surface by the astronauts. I have provided a photo showing an Apollo 12 astronaut on the lunar surface near the cylindrical case where these plastic bags were stored for easy access - the aluminum 'flags' can be seen sticking out the slot. This bag was used in training and has an aluminum rim to facilitate easy opening and closing, and are numbered for later determining when and where a sample was scooped. Most times these bags were fitted on the end of a long scoop so the astronaut wouldn't have to leave the rover to collect a sample. More photos of this type of bag in use will appear when the auction lots are moved over to Proxibid. Nice condition and quite uncommon.

A vintage 3-ringed 6"x 8" Apollo 10 LM Contingency Checklist dated 5 May 1969. It contains about 22 tabbed sections with about 25 heavy paper stock two-sided pages (about 40-50 total pages) of LM contingency checklists and procedures. Some of the tabbed sections are Emergency Power Down, Power Down List, RCS, Power XFER, and many more. This checklist was used by the Apollo 10 crew during training for the mission, and was annotated on the top of the front cover by Apollo 10 astronaut Gene Cernan. He wrote "New Pages in 10 May - Cernan". Very nice condition with some light annotations inside. Manuals such as this are quite rare and are the exact types flown with the astronauts on the missions.

An 8-1/4" diameter Apollo 11 Lunar Module TD+2 post-landing star chart consisting of a black star disc below and a semi-transparent rotating disc above. The circular rings on the outer disc signify what stars would be seen through the Optical Telescope at certain times during the stay on the moon. Star charts like this were used on every lunar landing mission to orient the LM just prior to liftoff. This star chart is for a launch date of July 16, 1969 (the Apollo 11 actual launch date) and for use on the lunar surface on July 20, and was to be used in case the Lunar Module had to leave the moon's surface immediately after landing - with 2 minutes (TD+2). Each Lunar Module carried two similar star charts - this one for an immediate liftoff, and another for liftoff after the stars had precessed across the sky during their stay on the moon. This star chart was used in the Lunar Module Simulator and was no doubt handled by Armstrong and Aldrin during their training. Great condition and extremely uncommon.

An 8"x 16" Apollo 12 flexible plastic LM Lunar Orbit Star Chart used for assistance in lunar orbit guidance and navigation in the Lunar Module. The chart shows the sun and planets in color to differentiate them from the background, and important navigational stars are numbered, highlighted and oversized. The track of the Apollo 12 CSM across the star field is also shown in color. The lunar star chart reads at the bottom "LM Lunar Orbit Star Chart, November 14, 1969 Launch" which was the launch date of Apollo 12. This Lunar Orbit Star Chart was used in training by the crew. There is waviness in the plastic from inadequate storage or from use, but with no rips or tears. There is also some loss of emulsion on the right side from handling. Very uncommon for any mission.

Charlie Duke's Spacesuit Equipment Bag, Training
Apollo 16 astronaut Charlie Duke's personal spacesuit strap-on bag, used for storage of equipment and supplies, used heavily in training for his Apollo 16 lunar EVA. The bag was strapped on to the leg of his EVA suit during training and over time the strap connections holding smaller secondary bag to the larger one became separated. The bag measures approximately 7" wide x 10" high by 2-1/2" deep. Complete with the manufacturer's tag still attached. Soiled from heavy use. Quite rare and a great piece of lunar history. Apollo 16 LM Contingency Checklist
A vintage 2-ringed 6"x 8" Apollo 16 LM Contingency Checklist dated March 15, 1972. It contains about 25 tabbed sections of at least 65-70 heavy paper stock two-sided pages (130-140 total pages) of LM contingency checklists and procedures. These 25 tabbed sections are contained themselves in 7 larger sections called 30-Minute Activation, Modular Activation, Docked Deactivation, Charts, Special Procedures, Contingency EVT/IVT and Real-Time Checklists. Annotated on several pages, probably by Young and/or Duke. Some of the tabbed sections are Docked DPS Burn, Docked APS Burn, Power Down List, Attitude Control Matrix, CSM Transfer to LM Power and many more. This checklist was used by the Apollo 16 crew during training for the mission, and was the designated copy to be used in the LMS. This checklist details, in set procedures, what to do in all cases of an emergency in the Lunar Module. Manuals such as this are quite rare and are the exact types flown with the astronauts on the missions. The checklist tabs are heavily used, but the majority of the pages are still in great shape.
