Not mint condition, but still in nice shape with no obvious flaws. Rare.

Lunar Surface Sample Collection Bag, Large

A 16"x 8"x 6" Sample Collection Bag used for training Apollo astronauts for their lunar EVA. This is an exact type of moon rock collection bag used on the lunar surface, where it could either be attached to an astronaut's PLSS backpack or to the Lunar Rover. The bag has a hinged, reinforced lid and a slit for easy access. Two metal brackets on the side at the top are for attaching to the backpack or rover. Photos have been provided showing the bag in use during training and on the lunar surface, and additional photos and views will be available once the auction is moved to Proxibid. The bag is complete and intact. This item comes with a letter from the consigner, a Flight Crew Training engineer, stating that it was used for Apollo lunar EVA training. Very rare example of lunar surface equipment, and the last one that will be available.

AS-201 Project Apollo Combined Systems Test Procedure Manual

A large Project Apollo Spacecraft Operations Checkout Procedure manual from North American Aviation for a comprehensive Combined Systems Test of the command module SC-009, which was AS-201.  It is dated 27 Nov 1965 and contains 542 pages of procedures with some foldouts.  Some of the tests include Ground Power Application, Master Count, Instrumentation System Test, RF Systems Test, Environmental Control Systems Test, Propulsion System Readiness, Flight Control System Test, Attitude Reference System Test, etc.  The front cover is faded with age, but the manual is complete and in nice shape otherwise.  AS-201 was a Saturn 1B test and was launched February 26, 1966.  Rare.

I'm not at all sure what this material is, but whoever collected it after the launch or recovery wrote a vague description on the envelope and the flight number (AS-501 = Apollo 4).  It is what it is.

Lunar Module Guidance Computer ISLGC Notebook

A vintage Lunar Module guidance computer ISLGC large notebook dated November 1, 1967 containing over 550 pages of diagrams and information.  The ISLGC programs were necessary in order for the Lunar Module Simulator computers to interpret and reproduce the actual commands that were input by the astronauts being trained.  In others words, it made a command from the actual Lunar Module computer be simulated in the LMS computers.  Used condition and faded with age, but quite rare.

Lunar Surface Sample Collection Bag

A 7½"x 8" plastic lunar sample collection bag of the type actually used on the lunar surface by the astronauts.  I have provided a photo of Charlie Duke on the lunar surface collecting a rock sample using a bag of this type.  The bag has an aluminum rim for easy opening and closing.  Excellent condition and quite uncommon.

Lunar Surface Sample Collection Bag For Scoop

An original 5"x 5" cylindrical plastic lunar material collection bag of the type actually used on the lunar surface by the astronauts. I have provided a photo showing an Apollo 12 astronaut on the lunar surface near the cylindrical case where these plastic bags were stored for easy access - the aluminum 'flags' can be seen sticking out the slot. This bag was used in training and has an aluminum rim to facilitate easy opening and closing, and are numbered for later determining when and where a sample was scooped. Most times these bags were fitted on the end of a long scoop so the astronaut wouldn't have to leave the rover to collect a sample. More photos of this type of bag in use will appear when the auction lots are moved over to Proxibid. Nice condition and quite uncommon.

Two vintage Lunar Module Mission Simulator Instructors Handbooks, Volumes I and II.  Volume I is "Simulator Description" dated 1 April 1967 with about 200 pages of diagrams, charts, information and many foldouts.  Volume II is "Simulator Operation" dated 1 April 1967 with 115 pages of procedures.  Both in used condition, but still good shape, and quite uncommon.

LMS Luminary 173 Reference Information Book

A 4"x 7" LMS-ISLGC Reference Information booklet for Luminary 173 dated July 10, 1970 and from GE.  It contains 38 pages of codes and information and has been heavily used in training on the Lunar Module Simulator.  ISLGC was the translation from the LM computer inputs to the simulator.

Apollo 10 LM Contingency Checklist, Cernan

A vintage 3-ringed 6"x 8" Apollo 10 LM Contingency Checklist dated 5 May 1969.  It contains about 22 tabbed sections with about 25 heavy paper stock two-sided pages (about 40-50 total pages) of LM contingency checklists and procedures.  Some of the tabbed sections are Emergency Power Down, Power Down List, RCS, Power XFER, and many more.  This checklist was used by the Apollo 10 crew during training for the mission, and was annotated on the top of the front cover by Apollo 10 astronaut Gene Cernan.  He wrote "New Pages in 10 May - Cernan".  Very nice condition with some light annotations inside.  Manuals such as this are quite rare and are the exact types flown with the astronauts on the missions.

Grumman Apollo 11 LM Plaque Installation Procedure + Photo

A vintage 8"x 10" color glossy photo of the Apollo 11 moon landing plaque being installed on the leg of the Eagle.  The photo comes with a vintage copy of the Grumman paperwork ordering the plague installed on the LM and outlining the installation procedures.  The Grumman paperwork is dated July 7, 1969, only 9 days before the launch, and consists of 6 pages with 5 of them being detailed installation instructions.  Nice condition.

Apollo 11 Lunar Module Star Chart, TD+2

An 8-1/4" diameter Apollo 11 Lunar Module TD+2 post-landing star chart consisting of a black star disc below and a semi-transparent rotating disc above. The circular rings on the outer disc signify what stars would be seen through the Optical Telescope at certain times during the stay on the moon. Star charts like this were used on every lunar landing mission to orient the LM just prior to liftoff. This star chart is for a launch date of July 16, 1969 (the Apollo 11 actual launch date) and for use on the lunar surface on July 20, and was to be used in case the Lunar Module had to leave the moon's surface immediately after landing - with 2 minutes (TD+2).  Each Lunar Module carried two similar star charts - this one for an immediate liftoff, and another for liftoff after the stars had precessed across the sky during their stay on the moon. This star chart was used in the Lunar Module Simulator and was no doubt handled by Armstrong and Aldrin during their training.  Great condition and extremely uncommon.

An 8-1/4" diameter Apollo 11 Lunar Module LO pre-liftoff star chart consisting of a black star disc below and a semi-transparent rotating disc above. Apollo 12 LM Lunar Orbit Star Chart

An 8"x 16" Apollo 12 flexible plastic LM Lunar Orbit Star Chart used for assistance in lunar orbit guidance and navigation in the Lunar Module. The chart shows the sun and planets in color to differentiate them from the background, and important navigational stars are numbered, highlighted and oversized. The track of the Apollo 12 CSM across the star field is also shown in color. The lunar star chart reads at the bottom "LM Lunar Orbit Star Chart, November 14, 1969 Launch" which was the launch date of Apollo 12.  This Lunar Orbit Star Chart was used in training by the crew.  There is waviness in the plastic from inadequate storage or from use, but with no rips or tears.  There is also some loss of emulsion on the right side from handling.  Very uncommon for any mission.

Apollo 12 Lunar Module Activation Checklist

A vintage 6"x 8" Apollo 12 Activation Checklist training manual for the Lunar Module dated October 1969 that was used by the Apollo 12 astronauts in the Lunar Module Simulator at KSC.  Overall good condition with the tabs being worn from use.  The checklist consists of about 37 pages of which most are two-sided making the total pages about 65.  There are about 20 tabbed sections of procedures and LM switch positions for complete CSM to LM transfer and Lunar Module activation.  Tabbed sections include IVT to LM, Comm Activation, PDI Day, Drogue & Probe, Landing Gear Deploy, Prep To Undock, and many more.  An extremely rare checklist and a significant piece of Apollo history.

Apollo 12 Lunar Module Timeline Book

An 8½"x 10½" Apollo 12 LM Timeline Book dated November 3, 1969 (11 days before launch) and consisting of 10 heavy two-sided pages (20 total pages) of timelines, procedures, rendezvous plots, switch positions, etc.  The Timeline Books were the books most heavily used during training by all the Apollo Lunar Module Pilots.  This one was no doubt at some point used by Alan Bean in the Simulator, and in fact, this is the Simulator copy and then the Crew Quarters copy.  Used condition from training and the light green back cover is missing.  These were not commercially available, but were made in very limited numbers - only a handful.  Rare.

A 6"x 8" Apollo 13 LM Lunar Surface Checklist dated in March 31, 1970.  It consist of 16 tabbed sections including EVA 1 Prep, EVA 1, EVA 1 Post, EVA 2 (Prep and Post), Launch Prep, One Man EVA Prep, Emergency Liftoff, Manual Ascent, etc.  Complete procedures, switch positions and checklists for each activity.  Used in training by Apollo 13 astronauts and this copy was one that was kept in the Crew Quarters for reference.  The tabs are only a bit worn from use, and the pages are still nice condition.  There are approximately 75 heavy-paper stock pages containing about 150 pages of data (two-sided).  Extremely rare.

An original 8½"x 11" Apollo 14 Lunar Module Malfunction Procedures manual dating from December 1970.  It contains 13 sections with about 35-40 total page sides of LM malfunction procedures.  Sections include G&C Displays, AGS, RCS, Comm, Heaters, Camera, etc.  Used in training by the Apollo 14 astronauts, and this particular copy was used in the Lunar Module Simulator at KSC.  Used condition but still good shape.  Manuals such as these were not commercially available, and were made in very limited numbers.  Rare for sure.

Apollo 14 Ascent Monitor Chart - Heavy Plastic

A vintage 8"x 10-1/2" heavy flexible plastic Apollo 14 Ascent Monitor Chart used in the LMS and the Crew Quarters for astronaut training.  It is two-sided and shows the landing site and the path of ascent of the LM off the lunar surface measured with a scale in minutes from the launch site.  A slight wave in it from years in storage, but still nice shape.  Quite uncommon.

Apollo 14 LM Orbit Monitor Chart, Circular

A vintage Apollo 14 circular Orbit Monitor Chart showing revolution 13 of the Lunar Module. The lunar chart measures 10½"x 160" (over 13 feet long) and is circular in nature, meaning the two ends have been taped together to make one, long continuos chart. The chart shows the Apollo 14 landing site in the Fra Mauro region as well as the Apollo 12 landing site.  Additionally, hundreds of craters and landmarks are shown.  The map is a first edition dated November 23, 1970 for a January 31, 1971 launch.  Used in the Lunar Module Simulator for astronaut training.  Nice condition and quite uncommon.

A vintage 5"x 8" Apollo 14 Flight Crew G&N Dictionary manual dated December 17, 1970 and used in mission training for the astronauts. There are some pages containing annotations, and some pages of data entry. It contains about 50 two-sided thick paper stock pages (100+ pages total) of Apollo 14 G&N information (Guidance and Navigation). There are many AGC program code sections including nouns and verbs, and other sections such as Start Charts, Checklist Codes Alarms, AGS Logic, AGS Man Thrust, etc. The tabs are well worn from astronaut training use in the Lunar Module Simulator.  Checklists such as these are quite rare in any form.

A vintage 8"x 31" heavy flexible plastic Apollo 15 Ascent Monitor Chart used in the LMS and the Crew Quarters for astronaut training.  This map was at one time the personal property of Apollo 15 Support Crew member Robert Parker, and his name can be made out underneath the black sharpie on the legend.  This map show a closeup of the landing site at Hadley and the path of ascent of the LM off the lunar surface measured with a scale in minutes from the launch site.  Nice condition and quite uncommon.

A vintage Integrated Systems Schematic manual for Apollo CSMs 111-115.  CSM 115 never flew while CSM 111 was used for the Apollo-Soyuz mission.  Otherwise CSMs 112-114 were for Apollo 15 to 17.  The manual is dated from 1970 to 1973 and looks to contain about 30 long foldout schematics.The covers are faded and spotted with age, but the interior foldouts are in nice shape.

Charlie Duke's Spacesuit Equipment Bag, Training

Apollo 16 astronaut Charlie Duke's personal spacesuit strap-on bag, used for storage of equipment and supplies, used heavily in training for his Apollo 16 lunar EVA.  The bag was strapped on to the leg of his EVA suit during training and over time the strap connections holding smaller secondary bag to the larger one became separated.  The bag measures approximately 7" wide x 10" high by 2-1/2" deep.  Complete with the manufacturer's tag still attached.  Soiled from heavy use.  Quite rare and a great piece of lunar history.  Additional pictures of the bag in use will be available once the lots are loaded up to Proxibid.

Apollo 16 LM Lunar Surface Checklist

A 6"x 8" Apollo 16 LM Lunar Surface Checklist with the last completion update being made June 15, 1972, but most the pages being dated in March 1972.  It consists of 13 tabbed sections including EVA 1 Prep, EVA 1 Post, EVA 2 (Prep and Post), EVA 3 (Prep and Post), Launch Prep, One Man EVA Prep, Emergency Liftoff, Manual Ascent, etc.  Complete procedures, switch positions and checklists for each activity.  Heavily used in training by Apollo 16 astronauts with quite a few annotations inside, especially near the back.  The tabs are worn from use, but the pages are still nice condition.  There are approximately 75 heavy-paper stock pages containing about 150 pages of data (two-sided).  This copy was for use in the Lunar Module Simulator for training.  Extremely rare.

Apollo 16 LM Contingency Checklist

A vintage 2-ringed 6"x 8" Apollo 16 LM Contingency Checklist dated March 15, 1972.  It contains about 25 tabbed sections of at least 65-70 heavy paper stock two-sided pages (130-140 total pages) of LM contingency checklists and procedures.  These 25 tabbed sections are contained themselves in 7 larger sections called 30-Minute Activation, Modular Activation, Docked Deactivation, Charts, Special Procedures, Contingency EVT/IVT and Real-Time Checklists.  Annotated on several pages, probably by Young and/or Duke.  Some of the tabbed sections are Docked DPS Burn, Docked APS Burn, Power Down List, Attitude Control Matrix, CSM Transfer to LM Power and many more.  This checklist was used by the Apollo 16  crew during training for the mission, and was the designated copy to be used in the LMS.  This checklist details, in set procedures, what to do in all cases of an emergency in the Lunar Module.  Manuals such as this are quite rare and are the exact types flown with the astronauts on the missions.  The checklist tabs are heavily used, but the majority of the pages are still in great shape.
